(Merritt Island, FL) January 24, 2011 – The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra will host the Sweetheart Swing Dance fundraiser at 6 PM on Friday, February 4th at the Doubletree Hotel, 2080 N. Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach.  The “Swing Dancing” event will feature dancing, dance lessons, raffles, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and champagne, giveaways and a cash bar.  Music will be provided by the Space Coast All-Star Dance Band, which boasts some of the finest jazz musicians in Florida. Dancers and non-dancers alike are invited to attend, mingle with the musicians on hand and enjoy the party atmosphere. Sweetheart Swing Dance fundraiser tickets are $35 each and are available on the orchestra website at www.SpaceCoastSymphony.org or by calling at (321) 536 8580.

Conductor Aaron Collins wants to shake hands with his growing fan base.
“We discovered that Brevard loves to dance! So we put this orchestra fundraiser together so our fans could come out, socialize with the musicians and dance the night away at the Doubletree Hotel,” said Collins.  “We’re not your typical orchestra and our patrons are not the typical concert-goers.  They’re active and engaged music lovers who support what we’re doing in the community.”

The Sweetheart Swing Dance fundraising event for the non-profit SCSO will aid their two-fold mission: to provide mentoring and performance opportunities for youth musicians and to bring quality music programming to Brevard at genuinely affordable ticket prices.  100% of proceeds from the event will go directly towards expanding the orchestra’s music education and community outreach programs.
