What is your favorite aspect about being a musician?   My favorite aspect about being a musician would be that I am able to play so many great pieces that have been written over the years, and that each time I perform any genre of ensemble it is never the same. There is always something fresh and exciting to learn from a colleague or a conductor.

Which composers most inspire you?   I have been continually inspired by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Strauss, and Bartok.

What are your favorite recordings?  My favorite recordings would be any that have Georg Solti conducting.   Also, Ishtak Perlman,  Yo Yo Ma, and Emmanuel Ax performing Shostakovich's Trio No. 2.

What piece are you looking forward to most in the SCSO's 2010 - 2011 Season?  The piece I am looking forward to the most is Richard Strauss' Death and Transfiguration.
