¡Latin Fiesta! a Sizzling Summer Night
¡Latin Fiesta! –a Sizzling Summer Night
Space Coast Symphony launched Summer Series June 4th
A hot day in June got hotter with the launch of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra Summer Series. ¡Latin Fiesta! brought the house down on Saturday, June 4th at 6 PM at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Auditorium in Melbourne. The 70-piece symphony never sounded better than they did that night, starting with the rich and exciting orchestration of George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture. Virtuoso violinist Suliman Tekalli was called back twice onto the stage after wowing the audience with the incredibly demanding Carmen Fantasy. Fans crowded around Suliman later to be photographed with the rising star in the SCSO photo booth. The concert ended with Alberto Ginastera’s romp, Danza Final --so fast and furious that you could almost see the dancing gauchos suggested by the theme.
Vero Beach concert-goers were treated to a repeat of the concert the next day at the Community Church of Vero Beach.
The Space Coast Symphony will continue performing through the summer with concerts in June, July and August. Next up in the Summer Series is Biegel Performs Emerson & Anderson on June 25th at 6 PM at the First Baptist Church of Merritt Island. Advance tickets are on sale now for $25.
